Andrej Samets

Title

Director of Racquets

Andrej is the new Director of Racquets at SLT&CC, recently taking on a leadership role for both the tennis and platform tennis programs. Andrej joined the club’s professional staff in 2005 as the Head Tennis Professional. He began his teaching career in 2000 at the New Shrewsbury Racquet Club, where he continued to teach during the off-seasons until accepting his new role at SLT&CC. Andrej is a USPTA certified tennis professional. Born and raised in Belarus, Andrej began playing tennis in 1977. He was awarded the International Sports Master Rank (the Belarus honorary sporting rank) in 1986. He attended the Belarus State University of Physical Culture from 1987-1991, earning a Bachelor’s Degree from the Tennis Coaching Department. From 1991-1998, Andrej played ITF Men’s Circuit Tournaments in Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, and Poland earning many singles and doubles titles. Andrej played on the Belarus Davis Cup Team in 1995, holding his highest CIS singles ranking of 15.

Mary Christman

Clubhouse Manager

Mary is thrilled to be back for her 14th year as Clubhouse Manager of SLT&CC. She is the quintessential Jersey Girl, born and raised in Little Silver having attended Red Bank Regional and Brookdale Community College. Mary comes from a family of 10(!) and considers her siblings amongst her very best friends. She has a daughter Jennifer, who currently resides in Cincinnati. Prior to joining Seabright, Mary worked at the Two River Times, Alphanet Solutions in Parsippany NJ and eventually opened her own technology consulting company. She’s truly found her home here at SLT&CC; appreciating the grounds, the history and most importantly the wonderful members that make this place so special. During off season, Mary works with the business office here at the club and spends time in Tequesta, Florida. She loves playing tennis and pickleball. After having spent many summers in Saratoga Springs, New York during racing season she would love to call that area home, someday…

Kyle Cwynar

Grounds Superintendent

Kyle, along with his wife Meghan and dog Harper, are very excited to be at SLT&CC. Kyle took over the position of Grounds Superintendent in 2019 and has brought a welcome burst of energy, enthusiasm, and innovation to our club. Kyle was born and raised on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and developed his turfgrass management skills as a crew member at the Hyannisport Club while volunteering extensively with the Cape Cod Baseball League. He completed two summer internship seasons at 1913 US Open and 1999 Ryder Cup host, The Country Club - Brookline, and then completed two seasons at perennial world number one golf course, Pine Valley Golf Club. His work experience continued as a member of the crew at Alistair MacKenzie's New South Wales Golf Club in Sydney, Australia. Upon returning to the US, Kyle worked for six years at Rumson Country Club shortly after Hurricane Sandy came through the Shore.

Victoria Kuritsyna

Assistant Head Tennis Professional

Victoria has been at SLT&CC since 2005 and is a USTA certified tennis professional. From 2002-2004, Victoria was a Pro at the Spring Lake Bath & Tennis. During the off-season, Victoria teaches at the New Shrewsbury Racquet Club, where she has been a Pro since 2001. Victoria grew up in Russia and began playing tennis in 1980. From 1988-1990, she attended the Minsk Olympic Boarding School #1 in Belarus earning an Associate Degree in Physical Education. From 1990-1997 she attended Belarusian State University earning both a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Biology. Victoria was awarded the National Sports Master Rank (the USSR honorary sport rank) in 1989. She is a Russia Junior Championship singles and doubles title holder and finalist, and was ranked within the top 6 Juniors in the USSR. From 1994-1998, she played professionally in the German National Club Championships, as well as in a number of individual events.

Michael Murray

Originally from Colorado, Michael is a multi-sport athlete who played tennis for Colorado State University. A USPTA certified instructor, he taught for the Monmouth County Parks system and privately while competing in USTA and World Team Tennis leagues in New Jersey and New York before joining the New Shrewsbury Racquet Club staff full-time in 2012. Accomplished tennis coach with a proven track record of helping players of varying abilities to improve their technique and overall match tactics. Emphasizing a “live” approach to learning, Michael strives to create a fun and positive atmosphere on court, building not only a player’s game, but the passion and confidence needed to reach a higher level of personal success. Adept in helping others to understand and practice the basic fundamentals of tennis, as well as the most up-to-date game strategies and techniques.

Halah Davis

Hi guys! My name is Halah Davis and I live in Oceanport, NJ. I am 21 years old and am a rising senior at the University of Rhode Island. I have been playing tennis since I was 8 years old and have been playing competitively since I was 12. I attended Shore Regional High School and received all conference honors all four years. I am currently a division 1 player and the captain of my team. I am so excited to be back teaching at Seabright for my 5th year! I’m looking forward to seeing you all this summer!

Matt Resnikoff

Hi Everyone! My name is Matt Resnikoff, I am 23 years old, and I will be working hard as a part of the teaching staff for Andrej this summer! I have been playing tennis since I was five, and teaching since I was thirteen, working at Little Silver Tennis Club, New Shrewsbury Racquet Club, Monmouth Beach Bath and Tennis and last year at Seabright. I played first singles all four years at Shore Regional and was given All-Shore Conference honors 3 of those years. I also served as the team captain for two. At the collegiate level, I joined the varsity tennis team during my junior year at the University of Rochester and quickly rose to be one of the team's captains and helped the Yellowjackets achieve a national ranking as high as 26. With my vast playing and teaching experience, I look forward to sharing my experience and love of the game with anyone who would like to work with me!
